Hi all of you, you would be so happy to know that the world-famous wax figure museum Madame Tussauds has opened in Delhi and The Travel Aspect is taking you on a visual tour! So here I am, super excited to share my experience of visiting the place that houses so many wax statues of a number of film stars, sportspersons, Hollywood sensations, politicians and world famous celebrities. Sounds exciting? Let me take you on the journey with me.
Madame Tussauds has opened up in Connaught Place, Delhi, at the outer circle. If you are from Delhi, you may know where regal was located, it is the same building where Madame Tussauds has started. It is very easy to commute through public transport and reach Madame Tussauds, you can easily take the yellow line of the metro and get down at Rajiv Chowk Station, check out from the Palika exit and take a five minute walk towards the outer circle and then, you are at the Madame Tussauds Wax figure museum!
When you reach Madame Tussauds, the first thing you have to do is buy a ticket, it is available at the counter or you can easily book it online prior to your visit. So, here you get your ticket to meet all the celebrities at Madame Tussauds (wax statues of course!).
When you enter the museum the first thing you will see would be Salman Khan pulling a rickshaw for you, yes actually, it is the statue of Salman Khan pulling a rickshaw and trust me, it looks so lovely. You can take pictures sitting on the rickshaw or pose pulling the rickshaw which is just next to it.
The next big surprise you will get is Tom Cruise riding his Ducati and looking hell handsome! The bike is real and has been exported especially for this statue, one of the staff members explained this to me- and the staff was all so good.
When you move forward you will get to see starts together, there is Raj Kapoor’s statue which has been styled amazingly in his Shri 420 avatar, even the background of that statue is kept black and white which gives it a complete feel of those times. Just next to it the statue of beautiful Madhubala who is styled in her Mughal-e-Azam look, she is looking jaw-dropping as a statue also.
Next to it is one of my favourite actors Ranbeer Kapoor, he is doing his signature batmeez dil dance step and looking so handsome in that. There are different props available that you can use a hat, wigs, glasses and much more to click pictures. So, posing with Ranbeer is going to be so much fun for you.
Just next to Ranbir’s statue is the wax figure of the sexiest women of all time- Merilyn Monroe. And I thank Madame Tussauds for putting up this one!
Then you will move to the next section, in between you will find Anil Kapoor sitting on the hot seat inviting you to play Kaun Banega Crorepati, you can sit on the hot seat and pretend to be playing with him.
When you move forward you are going to see a lot of celebrities, the place is actually divided into sections, after the first one you will move to the sports section where you will see all the great sportspersons from India and around the world. At the starting of the sports section stands the wax statue of Marry Kom who is dressed up as if going for a match, you can wear boxing gloves or the cape to pose with that, also there are fun games available for you to play and have fun!
When you move into the sports section, the biggest attraction you will see will be the statue of Milkha Singh that is so amazing and it looks as if he is just going to start running, even the muscular details of the statue are very clearly visible, for that I would like to applaud the Madame Tussauds team for making it looks so real.
The sports section witnesses so many other sports stars, like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Usain Bolt and a few others.
From Indian cricket, you will see Sachin Tendulkar doing batting and Kapil Dev in his bowling position, they have kept bat, gloves, and pads, you can wear all that and pose with the statues.
When you move forward, you will move forward you will go to the second floor of this Madame Tussauds museum. Going there you see the singing section, where you are welcomed by Sonu Nigam’s statue and then you will find many others. There only, there is a backstage setting created for featuring the wax figure of the dancing legend Michael Jackson, the whole area gives the proper feel of the backstage which I loved.
After the singing section, you will see the leaders of India section that has the figures of Mahatma Gandhi, Narendra Modi, Bhagat Singh and a few more. There is also a general knowledge quiz for you to play and have fun while polishing your knowledge, see Madame Tussauds is taking care of almost everything!
After that, you will again visit a sensational section that has wax figures of all the singers and dancers like Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Zakir Hussain and a few more.
Then you will move to the most glamorous section, that Madame Tussauds is actually famous for. You will see all the starts one by one while walking, I may not be able to name them all but trust me this is the forte of Madame Tussauds, bringing the glamour and glitz all under one roof. You will see many from Katrina Kaif to Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Kareena Kapoor and then the Hollywood stars like Kim Kardashian, Angelina Jolie, Anne Hathway and a few more.
Now, I would like to mention my favourites from the visit of the world famous Madame Tussauds Museum, those were the two- first Will Smith, the wax statue looked so real that it appeared as if it will start talking to me, it is so amazingly dressed up and positioned that you cannot move past without taking a photograph. Hats off to Madame Tussauds for creating this super awesome figure of Will Smith.
The other favourite of mine was my actual favourite Leonardo De Caprio, the wax figure is looking so handsome that I was star struck by seeing it. I literally couldn’t take my eyes off it for some time, it is looking so handsome and so real. I loved it Madame Tussauds and the way you have placed it!
So, here was my journey of visiting Madame Tussauds Museum, hope you enjoyed going on a virtual journey with me and liked watching the wax figures through my eyes.
Big cheers to Madame Tussauds for coming to Delhi!!
